I left on Saturday with my family to go down to the Atlanta,GA area to visit with my aunt and uncle for Halloween evening. Last year, I forgot my costume This year, even though we weren't going trick-or-treating (we're all too old ) I brought along my tavern maiden costume to wear, since I was volunteering to be the door attendant and hand out candy to trick-or-treaters.

...we got 9 trick or treaters total (we wouldn't have gotten ANY if we had stayed home for Halloween) Though my aunt and uncle live in a great community to trick or treat in, they don't get much traffic because they live on the far end of the housing division at the back of the cul-de-sac. We still had fun though. We rented "The Village".

We got 2 tricks played on us this year.

We woke up Saturday morning and went out to load up the car for the trip to find that our house had been (very poorly) tolled. We have no trees in our yard aside from a hardly foot tall sapling, so really, there wasn't much to TP; so the culprit was obviously disheartened by this and just kinda tossed the rolls over the ground. Unfortunately, it rained overnight and we had to leave, so we didn't have time to pick the toilet paper up, and so our yard looks like some mummies had a party while we were gone

We already know who did it, and it was all in good fun. The culprit isn't on this site, but I'd still like to say; JORDAN! That was PATHETIC! is that all you got, dude? WEAK!!! You just wait, man...when you very least expect it, we'll show you how it's done! Beware, 'cause you may wake up to a white Christmas of a totally different kind, my friend!

The other trick surprised the entire family (aunt and uncle included).

after breakfast Sunday morning, just before we were all about to head out to church together, my dad went downstairs to get his wallet (which he had left in his other jeans) to find it on the floor with the money and credit cards strewn out everywhere. My mother's wallet was on the floor as well, out of her purse, open, and with money and cards strewn about.

Turns out that my aunt and uncle's black lab, Coco, is a kleptomaniac . It impressed us all...she dug the wallet out of my dad's jeans and pulled my mom's wallet out of her purse and took everything out of them both without hurting any of the contents

My uncle, being a big joker, said "No, Coco! You were supposed to bring the money and cards to ME once you got them!"

Coco was not really trained to do that...she was just being mischievous, but it was good for a laugh

I got ALOT of really great news while on the trip. I found out that one of my cousins is having a baby girl (she has 3 wonderful boys already), another of my cousins proposed to his girlfriend over breakfast on Halloween morn (the answer was YES ), and a woman who has been close friends with my mother ever since my mom used to babysit her as a teen (and she became my and my siblings' babysitter when we were born) is going to have a baby of her own! They were afraid the baby had Downs Syndrome, but tests revealed that the baby is fine and is due on St. Patrick's Day (ironic, since her brother's name is Patrick ).


I'll be taking another short trip this week, leaving on Wednesday and getting home Friday, so there might be another delay in updates Sorry, y'all. My dad only just informed me of the trip yesterday.
